Amy Sommer
Urban Designer Amy Sommer is an urban designer with a background in landscape architecture, site design, and environmental planning. Her areas of interest include:
- Infill Development
- AutoCAD, hand drawing, computer rendering, and photo simulations
- Streetscape Design and Improvements
- Transit Oriented Development
- Creating Community Identity
Amy holds a Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design, where she developed an interest in sustainable planning and urban design. Her thesis work involved redesigning the suburban strip to create a new identity and sense of place in existing Post War suburbs.
As an intern at Copley Wolff Design Group in Boston, Amy worked on several parks, playgrounds, and streetscape designs, as well as a system of riverwalks in Lawrence, MA that would control annual flooding and provide education and recreational opportunities for the surrounding community.
