Bharat Singh
Associate
Bharat Singh is an urban designer with a background in architecture and urban planning. His professional and academic experience includes architecture, site planning, community and urban design, rural development, exhibition and interior design. Specific projects have involved:
  • architectural design and site management;
  • urban and site design;
  • zoning and development plans;
  • quantitative and qualitative analysis;
  • project feasibility reports; and,
  • use of InfoTech in development.

Mr. Singh’s professional experience and education both in India as well as in the United States, has exposed him to a range of urban environments and varies urban issues. At CD+A, Mr. Singh is working on Land Use, Urban Design and Streetscape Improvement Plans, developing alternatives for revitalizing urban transit corridors and localities. In New Delhi, he worked on consultancy projects conducted by one of the country’s most renowned architecture and planning college on both site-specific designs and development reports. Independently, he has designed and built architectural projects and has offered services as a consultant.

While at Calthorpe Associates, Mr. Singh assisted in smart growth projects in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN, as well as redevelopment projects in San Jose, CA; Denver, CO; and Hershey, PA. At the University at Buffalo he worked on a live studio project to explore economic, environmental and physical viability for wind energy initiative in Buffalo and other urban areas of Western New York. Mr. Singh was also awarded the Vivian and Ibrahim Jammal Fellowship at UB in 2002.
