Kevin Saavedra, LEED AP
Planner
Kevin Saavedra is a Planner with a background in City Planning and Urban Design. His academic and professional experience includes:
- Design of streetscapes, the public realm, and public spaces;
- Theories and Methods of Urban Design;
- New Urbanist design principles;
- Research and development of transportation operations plans;
- Documentation of community architecture and historical development patterns;
- GIS mapping, AutoCAD, and 3-D modeling and rendering; and
- Freehand drawing, graphic design, illustration and rendering for design and planning projects.
Mr. Saavedra’s experience has engaged him with a wide array of ideas, challenges and opportunities in the fields of urban design and planning. Prior to joining CD+A, he worked as a transportation planner for Moore & Associates, Inc., and helped draft short term plans and route maps for transit systems in California and Utah. As a summer intern at Urban Design Associates, Kevin helped develop neighborhood pattern books for the Pittsburgh, PA area, participated in community design charrettes in Virginia, and was part of the winning team for the Jekyll Island redevelopment project in Georgia, where he helped create massing models for the master plan. While a Master’s Degree Candidate at Penn, he was a teaching assistant for several classes including Graphics Communication and Urban Design Methods.
