Ryan Sotirakis
Junior Urban Designer Ryan Sotirakis is a Junior Urban Designer with a background in environmental planning, urban design and land development. Through his professional and academic experience, he has maintained a strong interest in promoting sustainable practices in all areas of planning, design and development. His professional and academic experiences have emphasized the following areas:
-
- Urban design plans and guidelines;
- Hand rendering, computer graphics, AutoCAD and GIS;
- Public process in planning and design;
- Energy conservation, shoreline preservation and environmental mitigation programs; and
- Marketing and graphics design for new developments
Mr. Sotirakis holds a Bachelor of Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art & Planning. As a student at UC, he was involved in many community urban design projects for Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine district, and was a member of the UC Planning Student Organization.
While an intern at the San Diego Association of Government, Mr. Sotirakis worked with stakeholder working groups concerning making improvements to the San Diego region in the areas of renewable energy systems, shoreline preservation and environmental mitigation through planning. He has a strong interest in the merging of this knowledge with the profession of urban design to create sustainable cities, towns and neighborhoods.
