Senior Associate
Thomas Kronemeyer is an urban designer with a background in city planning and landscape architecture. His professional experience includes community and urban design, site planning, landscape architecture, and facilitation of public participation workshops. Specific projects for public entities and corporate clients have involved:
  • the development of general and area specific design guidelines;
  • the design of streetscape improvements and specific sites;
  • infill development and land use planning;
  • station area planning; and;
  • community participation

Throughout his professional practice, both in Germany as well as in the United States, Mr. Kronemeyer has consistently worked on multi-disciplinary planning and design teams. The design of pedestrian-oriented, livable places and the sensitive integration of proposed development and uses into the fabric of existing built and natural environments are at the core of Mr. Kronemeyer’s professional work and research. Prior to joining CD+A he worked as project planner on projects that ranged from the development of design guidelines for a downtown, an area plan for a small town Civic Center, designs for pedestrian street improvements, to architectural plans for a Sea Ranch residence. Other projects included a housing study for UC Santa Cruz, schematic designs for portions of a corporate campus as well as an intermodal transit station. Projects in Germany focused on comprehensive open space planning for the City of Hanover and several town additions in rural context. At Berkeley, Mr. Kronemeyer was a research assistant with Professor Peter Bosselmann on a study of multiple roadway boulevards and on issues of environmental simulation. In 1996, he was awarded the ASLA Certificate of Honor for a sustained level of outstanding performance in education and achievement in design work.

Most recently Mr. Kronemeyer has been CD+A’s Project Manager on the following projects:
