Mr. Saavedra has had exposure to a wide array of ideas, challenges and opportunities in the fields of urban design and planning. At CD+A, Mr. Saavedra has worked on street designs for the Grant Road Corridor Improvement Program in Tucson, Arizona, and the Street Design Manual for Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, as well as on development feasibility concept drawings for San Lorenzo Village Square in San Lorenzo, and the Tamien Area Specific Plan Update in San Jose.
Prior to joining CD+A, he worked as a transportation planner for Moore & Associates, Inc., and helped draft short term plans and route maps for transit systems in California and Utah. As a summer intern at Urban Design Associates, Kevin helped develop neighborhood pattern books for the Pittsburgh, PA area, participated in community design charrettes in Virginia, and was part of the winning team for the Jekyll Island redevelopment project in Georgia, where he helped create massing models for the master plan. While a Master’s Degree Candidate at the University of Pennsylvania, he was a teaching assistant for several courses including Graphics Communication and Urban Design Methods.
