Sue Chan-Huettl is an urban designer with a background in city planning and landscape architecture. Her professional experience includes community and urban design, site planning, landscape architecture, environmental planning and facilitation of public participation workshops. Specific projects have involved:
Throughout her professional practice, Ms. Chan’s experience has included both planning and design in a variety of projects ranging from urban to natural settings. She has worked with a variety of clients including private developers, public agencies and non-profit groups. Past projects have ranged from master plan designs for various New Towns to site-specific designs for pedestrian street improvements. Other projects have included comprehensive environmental planning for rural and open space preservation, regional planning, neighborhood planning and design, and residential landscape design. While at Calthorpe Associates Ms. Chan was part of the design team responsible for creating prototypical development scenarios for the Portland metropolitan region as part of the 2040 planning process, managed a design team through the master plan design process of two New Towns in Indonesia, and created village designs and guidelines for a New Town in the Philippines. At Berkeley, she was a Graduate Student Instructor for the undergraduate Introduction to City Planning course taught by Professor Fred Collignon.
